Planning is underway for Danube Day 2018. Details will be posted here in the spring.
Read on for a summary of activities in 2017.

Events in 2017 covered all 11 Water Basin Administrations: thousands got active and inspired for cleaner rivers in at least 70 activities.

State Secretary Negru joined 150 experts and stakeholders at a meeting in Braila to discuss current projects, later visiting Galati's 4-day celebration. Attracting 1000 visitors, there was something for everyone in Galati's Danube fiesta. Among the many highlights was a grand summer parade, spontaneous flashmob dance, treasure hunt and rubbish clearance actions. Visitors also enjoyed river cruises, music, sport, art and water pollution lessons. Galati port was taken back in time, with sailors in traditional outfits, decorations, music, an old-time puppet show and cocktails!

A joint Ukrainian-Romanian festival in Tyachiv brought communities together to celebrate Danube solidarity and the importance of the Tisza and Danube rivers for people living on both sides of the border. See more details on the Ukraine page.

Eco Counselling Centre Galati once again held the national round of the Danube Art Master contest, which saw 49 schools enter in 2017. Find out more on the ECCG facebook page.
